Scuba Diving in Olympos: Underwater Experience Suitable for Every Level
Scuba diving is a gateway to the silent and weightless world beneath the surface of the water. The shores of Olympos provide highly favorable conditions for this experience: visibility is high, water temperature is comfortable in the summer months, and the seabed hosts a rich ecosystem with various species of living creatures.
The diving programs offered are divided into five different levels. For those who have no diving experience and just want to see underwater once, trial dive and Discovery Scuba Diving (DSD) options are available. CMAS 1* and Open Water programs are offered for those who want to become certified divers, CMAS 2* and Advanced Open Water courses for those who want to upgrade their current certificate, and the PADI Divemaster program for those aiming to provide diving guidance at a professional level.
Equipment is included in all programs; moreover, you do not need to bring any gear. A free transfer from the accommodation point is provided, and dives are carried out on a 12-person private boat.
Diving Programs
Trial Dive
Designed for those who want to try scuba diving for the first time and see the underwater world up close, this program does not require any prior experience or certificate. During a short briefing session held on the boat before the dive, basic breathing techniques and equipment use are explained.
The trial dive, carried out accompanied by a professional instructor, is performed at a maximum depth of 5 meters. This depth is sufficient to experience the underwater world safely and enjoyably. The trial dive is also a great starting point for those who want to take the sport of scuba diving further.
Discovery Scuba Diving (DSD)
Belonging to the PADI system, this program is designed for those who want to go one step further than the trial dive but cannot spare the time for a full certification course or do not feel ready yet. Under the one-on-one supervision of the instructor, a real open water dive is experienced by descending to a depth of up to 12 meters.
It is required to be at least 14 years old to participate in the program; prior scuba diving experience is not required. The DSD certificate can be accepted as starting credit for the transition to the Open Water course in the future.
CMAS 1★ Diver Training
The internationally recognized CMAS 1-star certification program covers basic diver training for beginners in scuba diving. Throughout the program, theoretical knowledge is provided, the correct use of diving equipment is taught, and open water dives are carried out under controlled conditions.
Participants who successfully complete the program gain the competence to perform open sea dives accompanied by at least a 3-star diver or a diving instructor. The maximum diving depth for divers holding a CMAS 1★ certificate is 18 meters.
CMAS 2★ Diver Training
The advanced CMAS 2-star program is aimed at participants who hold a valid CMAS 1★ certificate and have at least 20 logged dives in their dive logbook, excluding training dives. Those who want to switch from international systems such as PADI and SSI can also participate in this program.
Divers who complete the CMAS 2★ certificate gain the competence to dive independently up to a maximum depth of 30 meters, accompanied by at least a 2-star diver.
Open Water Scuba (PADI)
The PADI Open Water course, one of the most widely accepted diving certificates worldwide, consists of three main parts: theoretical training, shallow water exercises, and open sea dives. A total of 4 open water dives are carried out during the course.
The Open Water certificate is valid worldwide; this makes it possible to dive independently at diving spots in different countries. The certificate has no expiration date.
Advanced Open Water (PADI)
The PADI Advanced Open Water course is designed for certified divers who want to improve their current diving knowledge and practice. This program, which typically consists of 3 days and 5 dives, increases the ability to act independently in different diving environments.
Participants who complete the course reach the competence to dive up to 30 meters. The program content can be flexible according to the participant's interests and experience.
PADI Divemaster Course
For those who have turned scuba diving into a passion and want to continue this passion at a professional level, the PADI Divemaster course forms the first step of their career journey. This program, which takes about 3 weeks, brings participants to a level where they can supervise diving activities and support diver training.
The Divemaster title is PADI's first professional certification level and represents an internationally recognized dive guiding qualification. To participate in the course, it is necessary to have a valid Advanced Open Water certificate and a certain number of logged dives.
