Olympos is one of the rare destinations that has become a favorite of rock climbers worldwide; the reason for this is not only its more than 300 routes, but this unique atmosphere that cannot be found together in any other climbing spot.
With a difficulty range extending from 3a to 8c in more than 10 sectors, Olympos has the capacity to welcome both an enthusiast climbing for the first time and a professional who has been dancing on rocks for years. All equipment included, accompanied by a certified instructor.
Why Rock Climbing in Olympos?
Olympos is one of Turkey's most established rock climbing destinations. Located in the Kumluca district of Antalya, on the route of the ancient Lycian Way, this region offers an area open to climbing for most of the year with its limestone structure, various sectors, and Mediterranean climate.
There are over 300 routes in total across more than 10 different sectors in the region. These routes, ranging from 3a to 8c according to the French grading system, appeal to every climber from beginner to elite level. The sharp holds, tufa formations, cave structures, and deep pockets offered by the limestone transform every route into a technically different experience.
The most distinct feature that separates Olympos from other climbing areas is its geographical location. Being able to enter the Mediterranean by walking just a few steps right after climbing, reaching the sectors by passing through the ruins of the ancient city, and if you wish, climbing without a rope on the rocks over the sea — experiencing all of these on the same day is only possible in Olympos.
Olympos Climbing Sectors
The climbing areas in Olympos consist of sectors that are located within walking distance of each other, each offering a different character and difficulty range. Sector selection is shaped according to the climber's experience level, the time of day, and the position of the sun.
Cennet Sector (Paradise)
It is the most known and most photographed climbing spot of Olympos. Earning its name, this sector stands out with its panoramic view overlooking the sea. It hosts both beginner and advanced routes; it is reached by a short walk from the beach. The sector, which goes completely into the shade in the afternoon, is ideal for second-session climbs on hot days.
Hörgüç Sector
A favorite of negative incline (overhang) climbing enthusiasts, this sector offers routes requiring technique and strength with its tufa formations and cave structure. Since it is located right by the road, it is easy to reach; it stays in the shade from morning until 14:00.
Vadi Sector
Standing out with its sunny location, wide belay points, and impressive view, this sector mainly features routes of 6a and above. It is recommended to be preferred for pre-noon climbing.
Dershane Sector
It is the most suitable sector for beginners and those who will do trial climbing. Located within a deep canyon, Dershane is ideal for educational climbs with its mainly 5 and 6 grade routes. Thanks to the natural shade of the canyon, it provides a cool and comfortable climbing environment even on hot summer days.
Kadir's Sector

La Plaj Sector
The view offered by this spot, whose access is slightly more troublesome compared to other sectors, more than pays off for any effort. In the sector located by the seaside, the humidity is lower and the air is cooler. The use of at least a 70-meter rope is recommended.
Ceneviz Sector
Located near the Ceneviz (Genoese) Port, by the sea, this sector consists of two parts: the Ceneviz Port routes extending along the coast and Ceneviz Cave, which hosts impressive cave climbs. It is the most atmospheric spot of Olympos for anyone who wants to climb while listening to the sounds of the waves.
Çıralı Sector
With its high walls, distinct overhang structure, and abundant tufa formations, it is the favorite of advanced climbers. The Çıralı sector, which is one of the most challenging climbing areas in the region with routes reaching up to 8b, draws attention with its technical diversity.

- Practical climbing: Safe climbing on beginner-level routes accompanied by an instructor
- Belay training: Top-rope system, falling technique, and partner safety
Those who wish to continue after the trial climb can switch to half-day or full-day packages.
Deep Water Solo (DWS): Ropeless Climbing Over the Sea
One of the experiences that makes Olympos special on the world climbing map is Deep Water Solo. In this discipline, climbing is done directly on the rocks over the sea without a rope and safety equipment. When balance is lost or one wants to fall, they jump into the cool waters of the Mediterranean below.
Ceneviz Bay and the surrounding cliffs are the most popular spots for DWS. This discipline, which requires high concentration and a certain level of climbing experience, can also be safely experienced by intermediate climbers accompanied by a guide and in suitable sea conditions. The high sea temperature in the summer months offers the most ideal conditions of the year for DWS.
